Architects looking for a sophisticated take on AkzoNobel’s 2022 Color of the Year can benefit from Interpon’s Baku. Building on the light and airy shades of Bright Skies, which draws out themes such as expansion, open air and the great outdoors, Baku, which is part of the 2022-2025 Futura Collection, provides bold, neutral tones to bring the collection down to Earth.

Many events over the past two years have thrown the social, economic and environmental aspects of our lives into sharper focus. Extensive global trend research done by a team of AkzoNobel experts and international designers reveals that we’re reassessing what really matters and ready for a fresh approach to everything.

Conducted annually by AkzoNobel for nearly 20 years, the research generates valuable insights that are translated by paints and coatings experts into their respective segments. The result is on-trend, market-specific products, and design inspiration, such as offered by the Futura Collection, that help customers make a strong statement. The Futura Collection has been the leading color range in the powder industry for decades, with a color palette which is updated every four years.

"Helping customers bring their imagination to life is integral to our Interpon brand,” says Daniela Vlad, Business Director of AkzoNobel Powder Coatings. "Our products – enhanced by our color trend research – are key to achieving architectural beauty, whether we’re making a building stand out or blend seamlessly into its environment. We’re excited to bring surfaces to life with our Interpon Futura Collection and its carefully selected Color of the Year, Baku.”

She adds that sustainability is integrated into everything created by Interpon: "We strive to lead our industry by pioneering a new world of possibilities by empowering people, reducing our impact on the planet and consistently innovating to deliver the most sustainable solutions for our customers. That’s why we call our approach to sustainable business People.Planet.Paint.

The four inspiring palettes of the 2022 Color of the Year – Workshop, Greenhouse, Studio and Lighthouse – offer inspiration in the form of on-trend shades, textures, metallics and special effects, including several ultra matt finishes, for both interior and exterior applications.

With no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and significantly less waste, superdurable Interpon powder coatings are a sustainable option. They require less maintenance and stand the test of time in high touch areas such as tables, chairs, filing cabinets, lockers, furniture and aluminium windows and doors.

Drawing on centuries of expertise in paints and coatings, AkzoNobel pioneers a world of possibilities for customers and consumers to differentiate themselves, their products, and their spaces so they can show the world who they truly are.
