Asia Pacific Coatings Show welcomes coatings industry to Bangkok

The first day of the Asia Pacific Coatings Show 2019 (APCS) took place in Bangkok today.

The show has around 180 exhibitors that cater to the international coatings industry, from raw materials suppliers to equipment manufacturers.

On the first day alone, visitors from more than 32 countries around the world attended the show, demonstrating the strength and attractiveness of Thailand’s coatings industry.

The show was opened by honoured guest Khun Dr Sansern Samalapa, Thailand’s Vice Minister for Commerce, alongside Coatings Group Vice President, Ian Faux.

Khun Dr Samalapa walked around the show visiting exhibitors, such as Soujanya Color from India, Wilhelm Niemann from Germany, Willy A Bachofen from Switzerland and domestic Thai companies Union Petrochemical and Troy Siam, among many others.

The mix of international and domestic companies gives an overall flavour of how important the Thai coatings market is globally, reflecting its positive growth trends.

Khun Dr Samalapa was joined by Khun Sutthi Panyasakulwong, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Interior for Thailand, as well as members of the Thai Paint Manufacturers’ Association, including Khun Pennapa Hosakul, President.

Visitors to the show were able to take advantage of the popular, free to attend Business Presentations held within the exhibition hall, as well as attend the technical conference, chaired by industry expert Dr Marcel Piens.

The show is being held in the BITEC, Bangkok, from September 4-6 and entry is free to coatings industry professionals.
