Through investments in the local facilities BASF has enhanced the competitiveness of its photoinitiator production in Mortara, Italy.
The company is to invest €4M to €6M, in 2014, to ensure the highest standards of safety and environmental protection and to improve production efficiency. In addition, BASF is to extend its production in Mortara, one of the largest sites in the world for photoinitiator production.
The development, production and marketing of photoinitiators are a core business of BASF. Added in small quantities, they speed up the drying process for UV curable coatings, inks and adhesives by triggering chemical reactions upon exposure to UV light.
