Effective January 1, 2023, Markus Richter (49) took charge of WACKER’s Corporate Communications department. Holding a degree in engineering management and a doctorate in business administration, he succeeds Jörg Hettmann (62), who will be providing him with advice until the end of February and retiring on March 1, 2023. Markus Richter joins WACKER from Hella, an automotive supplier, where he was head of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. In this role, he was responsible for Hella’s global external and internal communications activities.

WACKER CEO Christian Hartel thanked the outgoing head of Corporate Communications for his many years of service to the company: "Over the past 15 years, Jörg Hettmann has been instrumental in shaping the communications side of key strategic decisions and many major projects at Group level. Examples include the firm alignment of corporate communications with the requirements of the capital market following WACKER’s IPO in 2006, Siltronic’s successful IPO in 2015, as well as the organisational enhancement and trans-formation of WACKER’s Corporate Communications department into a cutting-edge and future-proof newsroom model.”
