SCHLENK Metallic Pigments, a leading producer of effect pigments, now offers Zenexo® GoldenWhite WB 21 YS, a new effect pigment for coatings, inks and plastic applications.

"We are proud to introduce the next effect pigment based on our UTP-Technology, Zenexo GoldenWhite WB 21 YS”, explains Dr Frank J Maile, Global Technical Director BU Effect Pigments.

"The pigment extends the Zenexo colour palette with an elegant ‘champagne’ colour mass tone and enables colourists to easily formulate colours in this sensitive colour regime by mixing it with our high chroma Zenexo GoldenShine 21 WB YY pigment.

"Both effect pigments are based on the new UTP-Technology and offer excellent hiding power along with superior flop in a powder delivery form.

"Using Zenexo in powder coatings, attractive champagne colour tones finally become a reality and in the coloring of plastics, unique surface appearances close to a metallized-look are now possible."

Zenexo GoldenWhite WB 21 YS carries the ‘WB’ surface treatment in order to ensure excellent weathering and humidity resistance, as well as compatibility properties in multiple applications, especially for waterborne technologies.

The last UTP-Technology effect pigment, Zenexo GoldenShine WB 21 YY, was launched in September 2019 and has been successfully integrated into several high-end applications.

Applicators praised the novel colour styling possibilities of this new technology.

Zenexois the Schlenk brand for interference pigments based on UTP-technology for coating, plastic, and printing applications.

The product is not dangerous according to the dangerous goods regulations and not classified according to the CLP regulation.

UTP-Technology (Ultra-Thin-Pigment-Technology) is a technology from Schlenk, which utilises substrates with a reproducible and perfectly uniform thickness distribution and an unmatched aspect ratio.

It is based on an ultra-thin aluminium substrate encapsulated with silica.

Schlenk holds several patents on this technology.
